Longchamp is a company founded in Paris in 1948 by Jean Cassegrain. He owned a shop for smokers and sells a pipe called Lonchamp and one day he decided to cover it with a leather case made to fit. This article was such a great success that encouraged him to take on the market of leather goods. Within ten years, he founded a company that produced bags and leather luggage, nylon and leather. But the real success came in 1993 when he launched the Le Pliage model, a bag made of washable nylon, available in a variety of colors and sizes and features leather handles.
