Proenza Schouler is a company founded in 2002 by designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez based in New York. Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez had previously worked with Michael Kors and Marc Jaocobs. The brand name was created by joining the two names of unmarried mothers of the two founders. They had has received numerous awards, including the CFDA Perry Ellis Award for new talent in 2003, in 2007 they received the CFDA Womenswear Designer of the Year, also Valentino Fashion Group bought 45% stake in Proenza Schouler.
