Thom Browne began his career designing tailored clothing for men and has expanded its line into a ready-to-wear in 2004. Browne's style, inspired by American icons of the late 1950s and early 1960s. He was named Menswear Designer of the Year in 2006 by the Council of Fashion Designers of America, and his work was included in the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Triennial 2006, and in the same year, he was a finalist in this category. In the fall of 2007, Browne has launched a collection for men, women Brooks Brothers and a collection of men's jewelry for Harry Winston. In 2011 he launched ready-to-wear collection for women, and a year later a collection of unisex sunglasses.
