Converse, the popular American unisex brand that many teenagers love, specialized in athletic apparel and lifestyle shoes was established in Massachusetts in 1908 by Marquis Mills Converse. At the beginning the company produced rubber shoes for men, women and kids but some years later started producing shoes for tennis; in 1917, after many researches the company started the production of basketball shoes. The company became popular thanks to the basketball player Charles H. Taylor (Chuck) who later became the sales representative of the company. The brand reached its highest popularity in 50's and 60's. In 2003 Nike purchased Converse and reestablished its success featuring on the red carpet thanks to Hollywood stars such as Willow Smith, Drew Barrymore, Demi Lovato and Kristen Stewart.
